Xiaomi, one of the most controversial companies in the smartphone market in terms of software support, on the one hand gives new updates to its new flagship models, on the other hand, it terminates software support for older models. Finally, three more devices from Xiaomi brands have joined the list of phones that will no longer receive updates.
No more updates for three Xiaomi models
Xiaomi shares all smartphone models that will no longer receive software support with all its users through a list called EOS List. This web page, which can be accessed by everyone from the brand’s official website, has been very active recently.
So much so that the brand, which recently started to support the Redmi Note 9 Pro model, which it recently stopped updating, has recently terminated software support for Redmi Note 9, Redmi 9 and Poco M2, which are among the best-selling phones in Turkey.
Xiaomi models whose software update support has ended;
- Redmi Note 9
- Redmi 9
- Poco M2
These smartphones, which will never receive updates again, were launched in 2020. They came out of the box with the Android 10-based MIUI 11 operating system and have received two major updates so far. Thus, they have been updated up to MIUI 12 software based on Android 12.
If you are using one of these models, you may want to consider installing a custom ROM on your device to use more advanced software. There are many options for this. You can access our related content by clicking here.
Of course, even though these phones are on the list of models that will not receive updates, a patch will definitely be released when there is an important security vulnerability. Xiaomi has done so in previous models.
